UCC retired its locally hosted student email system in 2009 and moved to a cloud based solution. As the main stakeholder, the student body was consulted through interviews and questionnaires. This data informed the decision process and we continue this data collection to refine the service and ensure that project time is used efficiently. This talk will examine how Google Apps has changed how students interact with each other and the University. We will quickly analyse the interview and survey process and hopefully answer "what do students want?": VLE integration, mobile app integration, online elections, automated mailing lists etc.
